If you spend £2 million to secure the services of a 15 year old, it would not be unreasonable to suggest that you've bought yourself a big load of trouble. And so it came to pass that Arsenal bad-boy Jermaine Pennant is in trouble again after getting arrested early on Sunday morning on suspicion of drink-driving. According to the BBC Pennant had his collar felt after wrapping Ashley Cole's Mercedes around a lamppost in Aylesbury.

It's not the first time Pennant has been in trouble. Back in April 2003, David Platt kicked him out of the England Under-21 squad after Pennant broke a curfew. He claimed at the time that this was the spur he needed to sort his career out but, it would appear, it hasn't worked. As the Guardian reported a couple of weeks ago, Pennant's contract is up this summer, and he's yet to be offered a new one.
